Award-winning duo Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen put together a delightful, humorous story that provides possible answers to the most pressing question of Christmas: How does Santa get down the chimneys?

Stimulated by the title of the book, the students had some ideas....

He doesn't come down he gives the gifts to the goblins, he eats the magic mushroom he becomes very thin and comes down, he does his magic and becomes smoke, he comes in through the windows, he goes down with his head, he sucks his belly, he puts oil on his body to slide, he steals the keys to the door, with a little gadget he becomes small, he becomes gold dust, he is pushed by the reindeer,..and many other things were written.

Then we read and pantomimed how he comes down the chimneys, how he enters through the door, and how he sees in the dark.

We had a lot of fun!!

It's amazing how many things children can come up with if we give them the chance to think creatively.
