The 47th Primary School of Heraklion actively participates in European educational initiatives that promote innovation, collaboration and inclusion in education. Through the Erasmus+ programme, our school offers teachers and students opportunities to exchange ideas, develop new skills and collaborate with schools across Europe.

Erasmus Accreditation (KA120-SCH)

In 2026, our school was awarded the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of School Education (KA120-SCH). This accreditation recognises the long-term European strategy of the school and provides simplified access to Erasmus+ mobility funding until the end of the current programme period (2027).

The accreditation allows the school to organise teacher training, job shadowing activities and student mobility programmes on a regular basis, strengthening the international dimension of our school and promoting the exchange of good educational practices with partner institutions across Europe.

Our Erasmus Plan focuses on two main priorities:

Strengthening teachers’ competences in STEAM education, promoting innovative, interdisciplinary and student-centred teaching approaches.

Promoting inclusion and equal participation for all students, ensuring that every learner feels valued, supported and actively involved in school life.

Through these activities, Erasmus+ contributes to the continuous professional development of teachers, enhances students’ learning experiences and supports the school’s mission to provide a modern and inclusive learning environment.

Our Erasmus+ Experience

Our school has participated in several European and international projects, including initiatives related to STEAM education, digital skills, environmental awareness and inclusive learning.

Teachers of our school have been involved in training activities, robotics and coding competitions, collaborative European projects and educational initiatives organised by organisations such as the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Schoolnet STEM School Label network. The school is also one of the 20 European STEM School Ambassador Schools and the only one from Greece.

Through these experiences, we aim to provide our students with the skills and values needed to become active, creative and responsible European citizens.
